The Old Mill…Then and Now
Experience the spirit and heritage of the mountains; enjoy great food, shopping, and special events in a place that's steeped in history and dedicated to preserving the traditions and crafts of East Tennessee pioneers.
The Old Mill Square thrives today as it did in the early 1800's…..a hub of activity surrounding the water-powered gristmill on the banks of the Little Pigeon River. As Smoky Mountain settlers gathered at the mill and General Store to grind their harvested grains, barter goods, see their neighbors, and catch up on news, the Square became the oasis of hospitality it remains today.
