Things To Do

The Old Mill

For a truly authentic and historic dining and shopping experience in the Smoky Mountains, we invite you to visit The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. Discover authentic Southern hospitality and enjoy great food, shopping and special events in a place that is steeped in history. Built in 1830 and dedicated to preserving tradition, The Old Mill still grinds daily on a giant, water-powered wheel. Beyond shopping and dining, you can observe and interact with artisans and skilled potters at the wheel, see candy and ice cream being made, and wander the riverbank or explore the floral gardens and water features. Season events offer a reason to return again and again.

The Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery

Since pottery has been made at this very location for over 50 years, we consider our in-house potters experts in this traditional mountain craft. In fact, our artisans created most of the plates, bowls, salt & pepper shakers, and other serving pieces used in our two restaurants. Formed and fired on site, selections at The Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery include hundreds of specialty and serving pieces in many unique glazes, plus a collection of original sculptures from the Pottery's Mighty Bear series which showcases the American Black Bear. Stop by and see our potters at work each day, or shop online to purchase one-of-a-kind hand-crafted pottery.

Our Pottery is open 7 days a week, all seasons, winter hours may vary. Call 865-453-1104 for more information or visit us at Pigeon River Pottery.
